25th Casual Classic Bicycle Ride

The Sonnenalp of Vail Foundation invites you to participate in the 25th Annual Casual Classic Bicycle Ride being held on Saturday, August 21, 2010, benefiting ECO Trails, Eagle County Regional Trails System and the Sonnenalp of Vail Foundation.

Riders will take part in a 38-mile casual ride beginning in Breckenridge following the recreational path 10 miles to Frisco. Next, they will enjoy a creek-side, 7 mile, gradual climb to Copper Mountain, followed by 5 challenging miles to the Vail Pass summit. Finally, they will coast, predominantly downhill,
16 miles to the Bully Ranch at the Sonnenalp Resort for a barbecue, live entertainment and silent auction.

DATE:
SATURDAY, AUGUST 21, 2010 – Rain or shine!
FEE:
$75/Adult and $35/Child - 15 yrs and younger
WHERE:
CHECK-IN:  7-8 am at Sonnenalp Resort in Vail / Carport Area.
Alternate Check-In:  8:45am at Breckenridge Skier Parking Lot.
Ride starts at 9am in Breckenridge.

Directions: I-70 to Exit 203, Follow Hwy 9 to Breckenridge, turn right on N. Park Ave, turn left on Watson St. Skier parking lot on right.
PARKING:
VAIL – Please park in free Vail Village structure (Space will not be available at Resort)
BRECKENRIDGE – Please park in free skier parking lot.
SHUTTLE:
8am shuttles to Breckenridge from Sonnenalp Resort.  (Across from 1st Bank-Vail)
Shuttle available to Vail Pass Summit, if you prefer not to ride up. After Bully BBQ 2pm and 3pm shuttles back to Breckenridge departing from Sonnenalp carport.
ROUTE:
NOT A RACE! This is a casual ride which begins in Breckenridge and follows the recreational path 10 miles to Frisco. Next comes a gradual 7 mile climb along the creek to Copper Mountain followed by challenging miles to the Vail Pass summit. The end is a coast, predominantly downhill, 16 miles to the Bully Ranch for a BBQ, silent auction prize and relaxation!

Bully Ranch barbecue buffets to begin 11:30 AM which is included in participants’ fee. Only $25/per person for non-participants. There will be a SILENT AUCTION, GREAT PRIZES and GENEROUS DONATIONS by individuals throughout the Vail Valley.

ABSOLUTELY NO LAST MINUTE WALK-INS NOR DAY-OF-RIDE REGISTRATIONS ACCEPTED.

 

In case of inclement weather, conditions or acts of God, the Bully Ranch barbeque will be held as planned and the Sonnenalp Foundation will gratefully accept your registration fees as a donation.
