The Sonnenalp concept dates back to 1919 when Faessler's great grandparents opened a simple ranch house in Bavaria. This is also the inspiration for the name "Sonnenalp," which means "Sun on the Mountains." Over the next fifty years, two more generations continued to build the Sonnenalp into a first class, European tradition. Sonnenalp Resort of Vail
