Vail Mountain Unveils New Gondola for 2012-13 Season

What's the only thing that can make an epic day on Vail Mountain a bit more epic? How about a super-swanky new ride?

New for the 2012-2013 season, Vail is unveiling a brand-new, state-of-the-art gondola at Mountain Plaza in Vail Village that will replace the Vista Bahn Express Lift (#16) on Opening Day, Friday, November 16th, 2012. The Gondola (name to be revealed on opening day) will be the fastest single-cable, 10-passenger gondola (or gondola of its type) in the world.

Featuring heated, cushioned seats and Wi-Fi access for guests, this new miracle in on-mountain transportation travels at 1,200 feet per minute and will whoosh skiers and snowboarders to mid-Vail in 7.5 minutes, depositing them on the snow 1.5 minutes faster than the former Vista Bahn.
